(I was a definite multimedia target as a kid, if my continued love for both Pokemon and Digimon is an indicator) The good news is they all saw rereleases on the Wii U Virtual Console, so I was able to play the first two. Unfortunately, the first two games were out of print by the time I learned about the companion games. I still own many of them and revisit them once in a blue moon. I felt that added a lot to the form change mechanics that began way back in BN 2 with the style The Battle Network series was a staple of my childhood! I got into the anime first and have owned at least one version of each game from 3 onward. The difficulty was ramping up nicely between installments, and I like how they used the concept of Noise in Black Ace (never played Red Joker). I do feel that Star Force was dropped a little soon, though I don't think it was as successful in its multimedia onslaught compared to Battle Network/ Mega Man NT Warrior. That said, I do prefer Lan and Mega Man's team dynamic over Geo and Omega-Xis, and I also feel that the plot in some of the Battle Network games (ignoring the formulaic first one and the annoying completionist mechanics in the 4th BN entries) is slightly better overall. Mon 22nd Mar I really enjoyed Star Force as well it mixed up the battle mechanics a little while retaining some of the core aspects of BN.Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cybeast Falzar & Cybeast Gregar (GBA).Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Colonel & Protoman (GBA).Mega Man Battle Network 5: Double Team DS (DS).Mega Man Battle Network 4 Red Sun & Blue Moon (GBA).Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue & White (GBA).Would you love to see a new Battle Network game? Got a favourite Mega Man sub-series? Tell us all down below. For now, we'll have to wait on those further announcements. Capcom previously stated last year it is open to a new Battle Network game, but also clarified that it would need to consider "all" factors. Still, it's evident that something is being planned, new game or otherwise. Many companies have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic – Capcom itself has come under heavy criticism for allegedly forcing staff to work onsite – so we're hardly surprised to hear this has caused delays. It’s always Rockman who beats the virus after all! Of course, washing hands, gargling and social distancing are important, too. But for now, I think it’s time to be patient. If the world hadn’t been in such a state, I might have had other plans to announce. Perhaps anticipating disappointment over this, Capcom's Takekuni Uchida also left this comment: Admittedly, most of these had been previously confirmed, such as a " Rockman Exe Treasure Box", but no new game announcements were made. Speaking through Rockman Unity – Capcom's official Mega Man blog – to commemorate this, the company detailed several Battle Network announcements. Known in Japan as Rockman.EXE, yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of its Japanese release, and we've not seen a mainline entry for 15 years (12 years if you count Operate Shooting Star, which crossed over with the Star Force sub-series). Between Mega Man 11 and several Legacy Collections – covering the original series and Mega Man X sub-series – many fans have been hoping we'd see similar love for Mega Man Battle Network. Capcom's been giving Mega Man increased attention in recent years.
